Brief Bio

DRENCHED is an alt rock/grunge-gaze band based in Launceston, Tasmania. Their music captures spacious and heavy 90s-inspired riffs, catchy melodies, and uses experimental song structures and concepts reminiscent of acts such as Hum, Failure, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Quicksand. Formed in 2019, DRENCHED began as a duo writing and reworking old material from previous projects before expanding to a full line up in 2021. Their debut EP was released in 2021, followed by their debut album, Infinite Resource, in 2023. They have since been playing shows across Australia, spreading their music throughout the alternative scene. Drenched are currently actively writing, refining, and demoing a large back catalogue of new music, with the intention of releasing it in the future.

DRENCHED is an alt rock/grunge-gaze band based in Launceston, Tasmania. The band was formed in 2019 by Tom and Josef, high school friends who have been making music together since the mid-2000’s. DRENCHED was and is culmination of years of songwriting and searching for a signature sound. Completing the line up, Alex joined on lead guitar in 2020, with Lucas in 2021 playing bass. Lucas departed in 2024, with Glenn taking up the bass.

In 2021, the band released their debut self-titled EP and began honing their live sound, sharing their take on alt rock with local Tasmanian audiences. 2023 saw the release of their debut album, Infinite Resource, with the singles 'Slug', 'Limber', and 'Pink Cellophane' showing live audiences and the online community alike how the band’s lush sound had developed since their initial release.

The band’s latest single 'Daisystompers' was released in early 2024, showing a heavier and more abrasive approach to their songwriting. DRENCHED continue to write, experiment, and build on their sound. The band is currently working on a large amount of new material, refining and demoing new tracks with the intention of further releases in the future.

The band’s heavy 90s-inspired riffs, catchy melodies and energetic live performances continue to gain them a positive reputation in the Australian music scene, with 2024 seeing the band expand its reach and perform to audiences on mainland Australia. The sound of DRENCHED has been described as nostalgic and emotive, whilst remaining driving and heavy, a must-see act for anyone dreaming of getting a taste of 90s alternative culture.
